Diary of a potato

Hi!

This last days I tried to make a plugin that adds effects to bars (hp, mp, tp, etc) when the user is damaged or healed, etc.

Examples of what I achieved (just hp bar for now):

It’s a really nice touch for the visuals of a game but- Rpg Maker MV or specifically PIXI handles image layering/order in a way that is so jsdfaksfjalfhjdklfhnlakfghlkadsjfa.

If I want to show this extra effect bar in the correct spot where it doesn’t go over other image (text in this case) I have to mess up a lot of Rpg Maker default code and I don’t like it at all D:

Also my little chocobrain works slowly.

Also enjoy this fail:

MV – Equip items plugin

This plugin allows you to give item slots to actors.

In battle they will only be able to use equipped items and not every one of the inventory.

You can get it here:

Equip Items – Rpg Maker MV plugin by Lheku Qhukyaru

I love difficulty and the strategy part in games, and being able to use 99 elixir, 99 potions and 99 megabombs in any battle (if the player grinded for them) is like a fun killer (for me) and very tedious to just spam items.

Why not to limit the number of items the player can carry to battle?

So you can design interesting and more powerful items that can only be used some times in battle, sacrifice curative items for equipping a damage one…

Summing up, make items more valuable.

This method won’t limit the player farming and item hoarding in inventory, nor limit them with a weight or bank system.

I think it gives some sort of strategy of what the actors should carry to battle and I like that.

About my code and thoughts(?)

Hi!

I wanted to talk a little about some controversy that happened “recently” with obfuscating code.

Time ago some RPG Maker plugin dev (that everyone surely knows!) had problems with thieves (I don’t remember the details). So they decided to not only make their plugins paid mode, but also to obfuscate their code, which personally I respect that decision.

So I even though of obfuscating my code but to be honest, I think the reason is more of my low self steem, thinking that my work is worthless and embarrasment that someone would laugh at my code :”

Another interesting topic about this is: I learned RPG Maker and code stuff just because I could look other people scripts/plugins, and obviously it really helps a lot for doing fixes and compatibility patches you may need.

Also it would be counterproductive for me as I’m small and new in this ^^’

About the reasons to having paid plugins and stuff. It’s easy; I would like to not starve.

So I feel that anyone should be able to see my code, although please, if you are in the solitude of your room, bored, do not make fun of me or cry looking at my code ;_;

And evidently do not break any term of use and such things.

Sorry for having my self esteem below zero

Fresh start

Hi!

My name is Hikari Lheku (she/her), also known as Lheku Qhukyaru. I love RPG Maker since I was little and I am a game developer focused in programming (RPG Maker plugins and Unity games in C#) although I like a lot of other fields!

I had already published some random work like RPG Maker MV plugins but I was very unstable.

I’ve decided to start from scratch and organize everything better to try to get my little space in this beautiful and hard world.

I will also post some random stuff maybe regarding game dev or just me playing games like FFXIV or stream related (I try to stream at twitch but is hard for me), so I apologise in advance for my weird thingies.

If you want to know a little more about me or visit my other links you can check out my about page :3

I hope you like my stuff and thanks for reading this far :’

Here, admire this little Lheku UwU
